For the 22nd edition of the Belgian Pride, the theme is ‘Asylum and Migration.’ With our claims and our slogan, ‘Crossing Borders’, we wish to focus on the experiences of LGBT+ refugees, both in their country of origin and at their arrival in Belgium.
There is a text explaining our claims and the changes we want to see in our society. Because this year, the Pride is ‘crossing borders’ to demand more rights for the LGBT+ community, and for the refugees in particular.
To read that text in Dutch, see our ‘Thema’ page.

The Belgian Pride association was created in 1996. In its early days, we called it the “Belgian Lesbian and Gay Pride Pink Saturday Samedi Rose”. This name was later changed to the shorter “Belgian Lesbian an Gay Pride” or BLGP. Since 2010, the organization works under the name of “The Belgian Pride” under which it tries to accomplish its goals.
The first edition of the Pride managed to lure some 2.000 visitors to our capital. In 2014, 19 years after the start of the Belgian Pride, we managed to attract 100.000 visitors to the event. The association has always had its headquarters in Brussels and the Pride event has always taken place in Brussels from 1996.
Seasons of Pride is pleased to present the Gay Pride or LGBTQ Pride Calendar for 2017. You will find Gay Pride events, LGBT Film Festivals, and the Gay Travel Events like Gay Ski Weeks. We do our best to try and keep up with all the events, but sometimes we miss one or two.
